Day 65 – Our Dining Room Table
Today’s gratitude isn’t so much about the table itself, but the venue it’s provided for great times, conversations and memories.
Just about anyone who has been named in these days of Gratitude posts has sat around the dining room table with me and talked.
Sometimes after dinner with Kim and the boys we’ll sit around for an hour or more just talking and enjoying each other’s company.
We’ve celebrated birthdays, anniversary’s, and every holiday around the table. We’ve had great meals with great friends and lots of wine and beer. We’ve played cards, picked songs for Karaoke, playing board games, had “family meetings”, frank discussions, heated arguments and most of all… we’ve laughed around that table. A lot. It’s my all-time favorite place to sit and have talks with my family and my friends. I’m grateful that so many of my friends have shared the table with Kim and me and I hope that it happens again and again.
Dining room tables, in our family, have always been a place of laughter and I remember fondly the tables at my Mom’s house, my Aunt Laura and Uncle Buster’s house, Aunt Mary’s house and Rosemarie’s house. They are filled with memories of sheer joy.
I hope you have a place in your house, and in your life, that is filled with as many great memories as our dining room table has.
