Day 89 – G&J Shows

Since October 1, 1994 I have been touring theaters, school auditoriums and Civic Centers throughout Texas.

G&J is the initials of the promoters who put those shows together. I’m putting just initials, because I don’t want to have their offices flooded with calls from magicians who think they can do a better job than me. This happens all the time – and I ALWAYS find out the name of these magicians who are too lazy to get their own gigs that they think they need to try to take someone else’s.

In this case… it won’t happen. Relationships that last this long are built on trust & communication.

I work about 65 shows a year for G&J. They are a mixed blessing of awesome and just OK. While when I started with them they were at the high end of the events I did, now they’re at the low end on the pay scale, but that is balanced out by the steady work and the non-existent marketing costs and flexibility on what I perform.

This steady flow of shows gives my business some stability and this has truly been a win-win situation for both G&J and for me. I’m sure we’ll continue doing these shows as long as it is a Win-Win.

Talk about repeat business… it’s now been over 1200 shows with one client.

Thanks G&J & here’s to another 17 years! (Note: It’s Now 9 years later and these shows are still going strong).
